Will the job centre pay for your application photo?
In Germany, often yes, if you ask first. The Agentur für Arbeit and Jobcenter can cover application costs from the placement budget (Vermittlungsbudget).
What is the placement budget?
The Vermittlungsbudget (§ 44 SGB III, and § 16 SGB II for citizen's income) lets the employment agency or job centre cover costs that arise while looking for work or training, including application costs such as a headshot.
How to apply
Order matters: apply first, buy second.
- Talk to your adviser before buying an application photo.
- Name the provider and price, for example the SCENYOU package you want.
- Wait for approval and note it down.
- Order your photo and submit the invoice in your name.
